As part of the restructuring of the bus manufacturer Henlys Group plc, Volvo Group has reached an agreement to acquire the remaining 50% of the North American bus manufacturer Prévost Car Inc., containing the Prévost and Nova brands.

The Jubilee version of the Volvo 9900 was the first stage in the renewal of Volvo Buses’ most luxurious tourist coach. The field tests that Volvo Buses has carried out on the latest SCR technology have brought good results and emissions down to levels corresponding to Euro 5. The trial was carried using an early version built on a Euro 3 engine. Following the highly encouraging results, Volvo Buses has decided to offer this variant already now to interested customers.

Volvo Buses has received two orders for 118 bus chassis in total, for city traffic in Thessaloniki, Greece.

9/1/2004 Largest ever order for Volvo Buses in Australia

Volvo Buses has received its largest ever individual order in Australia.The order from the State Transit Authority of New South Wales is for 180 bus chassis. All of these buses will operate in Sydney.

8/31/2004 VIP-equipped Volvo coaches attract business travellers

Volvo Buses is introducing a VIP version of the Volvo 9700 aimed at business travellers. This coach has fewer but wider seats, a self-service pantry and is in many parts of Europe able to compete with air and rail travel.
