The first Volvo 7900 Hybrids have now been delivered in the UK. The launch event took place in Edinburgh on Saturday, April 13, as Lothian Buses took delivery of ten new Volvo 7900 hybrid buses.

Volvo Buses has sold 310 coach chassis to the JCA Group, one of Brazil's largest passenger transport companies. This is the biggest deal closed to date in Brazil by Volvo in the coach chassis segment.

Volvo Buses has signed its first order on the intercity bus Volvo 8900 in France. It’s the large operator Faure that purchase six vehicles. The order also includes service contracts.

Arriva North West in the UK have taken delivery of 44 Volvo B5LH double decker buses with Wrightbus bodywork, as part of the largest order of its type outside of London.

Volvo Buses has delivered five Volvo 7900 Hybrid buses to the City of Luxemburg (AVL). The vehicles are painted in the city's new eye-catching colour scheme. These are the first 7900 Hybrids delivered in the Benelux region.

Volvo Buses’ North American subsidiary, Nova Bus, has received an order for 475 hybrid buses from Quebec in Canada. This is the single largest order for hybrid vehicles that the Volvo Group has ever signed to date. The buses are scheduled for delivery beginning of 2014.

Volvo Buses has delivered 14 Volvo 7300 bi-articulated buses to Mexico City's BRT system Metrobús. The buses will transport more than 60,000 passengers daily.

Weak markets contributed to an operating loss of SEK 129 M for Volvo Buses in the fourth quarter of 2012. Order intake in the fourth quarter of 2012 amounted to 3,068 buses (3,941). Volvo Buses has improved its market shares in North America, South America and Europe. Deliveries during the year amounted to 10 678 buses, down 16% compared to 2011.

Volvo Buses has delivered its first hybrid bus to the Asia Pacific region and Australia. The Minister for Transport Western Australia, Troy Buswell MLA, celebrated the launch of the new Volvo B5R Hybrid bus at the Volvo dealership in Guildford, Perth. The new hybrid bus will begin operations in March in Perth’s free inner city CAT service run by the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia.
