Volvo Buses’ North American subsidiary, Nova Bus, has received an order for 475 hybrid buses from Quebec in Canada. This is the single largest order for hybrid vehicles that the Volvo Group has ever signed to date. The buses are scheduled for delivery beginning of 2014.
Following weak market developments and tough competition in Europe, Volvo Buses is now planning to concentrate its European production of complete buses in the company’s main plant in Wroclaw, Poland.
Environmentally optimised, economical and highly efficient. Volvo Buses is now launching an all-new series of right-sized engines that meet the new Euro 6 requirements. “In general Euro 6 means higher fuel consumption, but thanks to engines with lower weight, smart new alternators and electrification of various components, we’ve been able to improve fuel efficiency in virtually all our bus models,” says Johnny Lidman, Product Manager City buses, Europe, at Volvo Buses.
