Powerful, environmentally optimised engine

The engine in the Volvo B9TL is a newly developed 9-litre engine that offers superb driveability and excellent fuel economy. The Volvo D9B is available with 260 (1100 Nm) or 310 hp (1400 Nm). In practice this means instant response to the throttle, controllable acceleration and excellent low-rev lugging ability.

In order to also reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides to extremely low levels, it uses SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology for aftertreatment of exhaust gases.

The rest of the powertrain is tailored to extract as much power as possible from the engine. There is a choice of automatic transmissions with four or six speeds, offering smooth and relaxed progress. The rear axle has a choice of three ratios for best performance within each application area.

All-round air suspension and disc brakes are standard.

The Volvo B9TL can be prepared for the supply of air conditioning equipment.
