In support of the Singapore Green Plan 2023, the Singapore Low Carbon Network (SLCN) was launched by PwC Singapore in December 2021. The SLCN serves as a platform that aims to bring together enterprises and organizations across Singapore with ambitions to decarbonize.
“We are pleased to be one of the inaugural organization members of the Singapore Low Carbon Network. At Volvo Buses, it is our vision to be the most desired and successful provider of sustainable people transport solutions, driving value creation through innovation, partnership and people. We have the ambition to reduce a further of 50% emissions from our own operations by 2030,” commented Mats Nilsson, Director of Volvo Buses Asia Pacific Central.
PwC Singapore will be the secretariat to the SLCN and provide support in designing suitable carbon measurement and decarbonization-related program for its members. To deliver on this, PwC will be collaborating with organizations such as the CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project), a global non-profit that runs the world’s largest environmental disclosure database, to drive discussions around topical issues that will help to enable Singapore's net zero commitment.
From Volvo Buses, we are fully in line with the direction set by the Singapore government. To join the SLCN, as a transport solution provider, we are expecting:
“It is really exciting to see Singapore taking firm actions and setting concrete targets over the next 10 years to strengthen its sustainable development to achieve the long-term net zero emissions as soon as viable. We really want to drive a true Cradle-to-Grave holistic approach and leverage on the Volvo Group’s global experiences and strength from different innovative entities, such as Volvo Energy, to create our low carbon future in Singapore together!” concluded by Mats Nilsson, Director of Volvo Buses Asia Pacific Central.
