Volvo Bus Australia General Manager, Mitch Peden, has said that the new Volvo B13R chassis will replace the existing Volvo B11R product in Australia and New Zealand, and will officially be brought to market in early 2023.
“The new B13R will be a premium coach experience and an improved productivity platform for our customers,” said Peden.
“It was developed with operators and drivers in mind and is designed to meet the demanding operating conditions of Australia – with a firm focus on safety, comfort and productivity. It has been designed to reliably meet any challenge and to safely power any journey.”
The all-new Volvo B13R Euro 6 chassis provides a powerful engine, 500hp, an updated I-Shift transmission, and a driveline that features several fuel saving Volvo technologies, helping to reduce fuel consumption by up to 9%.
The Volvo B13R’s electrical fans and a unique cooling system allows extended service intervals and maximum uptime. Low temperatures are maintained in all environments to ensure that the engine runs under optimised conditions.
The Volvo B13R also delivers a smooth and steady ride, with a new and improved driver’s station to make every journey a comfortable and safe experience.
