Luggage capacity for all needs
There’s plenty of storage space for luggage and other belongings in the Volvo 9700. In addition to the overhead luggage racks – available with or without flaps – generous luggage compartments are accessible through centrally locked hatches. The compartments are illuminated and fitted with removable carpets, making them easy to keep clean and tidy.

More control – less fuel
The D13K powertrain plays a major role in making the Volvo 9700 great to drive. High torque is available from low revs, combined with a smooth yet precise response that puts the driver in control. On top of that, it’s more fuel-efficient than ever. For even better environmental performance, the two most powerful engine options can run on HVO and biodiesel.

Performance at the right temperature
The unique cooling system features dual radiators positioned on opposite sides of the engine installation, supported by energy-efficient electric fans. The temperature remains low and uniform in all conditions, contributing to reduced fuel consumption and longer service intervals.
Dynamic Chassis Lowering
When cruising above 80 km/h, the coach is automatically lowered by 20 mm to improve aerodynamics and reduce fuel consumption. When the speed falls below 70 km/h, the ride height is automatically restored.
I-Shift transmission
The Volvo I-Shift transmission is the industry benchmark for smooth and fast gear changes. Low internal friction and optimised software contribute to fuel savings. For even greater efficiency, the Volvo I-Shift can be specified with overdrive, reducing engine speed by 22% when cruising in top gear.
I-See
A valuable feature that can cut fuel consumption by up to 3%. It’s an intelligent cruise control, which adapts to the topography and proactively optimises acceleration, gearshifts and braking when driving with cruise control.
