“At Volvo Buses, we are extremely proud to support Taiwan’s green transition and share our pledge to reduce our carbon footprint in order to raise awareness and co-create a sustainable future. This initiative is also aligned with our recently launched vision: To be the most desired and successful provider of sustainable people transport solutions, driving value creation through innovation, partnership and people. In Taiwan, we are still at an infancy stage of our electrification journey and therefore it is important that we start working closely with policy makers and leverage platforms like these to share our knowledge and best practices from the other markets. The short-term ambition would be to identify potential customers whom we can work with in defining a solution where we can offer to reduce their CO2 footprint.”

At the launch, Volvo Buses and Volvo Trucks shared our electrified solutions, based on proven Volvo technology, are already rolling on the streets in real life operations globally.

“Both Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses have been present in the Taiwan market since 1978. We are determined to lead the transportation industry in the transformation to develop solutions to help increase our customers’ uptime and safety, reduce fuel and emissions. We will do our part in fulfilling the commitments to the Paris Agreement and continue to drive the transition towards fossil free transport systems.” says Emmanuel Jupet.

Sweden+ Taiwan Green Transition Alliance is an initiative by Business Sweden Taiwan supported by the Embassy of Sweden, together with seven other Swedish companies in Taiwan. Recognizing that to achieve the goal of net zero requires the close partnership between policy makers and the private sector, the eight alliance members, each representing different key industries, committed to work together with industrial partners in Taiwan to support and raise the ambition of the Taiwan’s efforts towards a carbon neutral society ahead of 2050.
