Every device that connects to a network uses a MAC address, just like your laptop connects to Wi-Fi. Your vehicle does the same thing when it communicates with a charger. Knowing the MAC address of your vehicles’ charging units becomes important for fleet management. Fleet operators can use the MAC address to uniquely identify and manage each vehicle in the fleet, keeping track of charging activities, permitted vehicles on chargers, maintenance needs, and other relevant information.
Under Vehicle Details, within the Assets tool, you will find useful information about your vehicle like VIN number, Motor Type and Battery Capacity. This section has now been extended with the Vehicle Charging Unit MAC Address. A one-click button lets you copy the number for use[W(3] in other systems.
