The latest addition is finished in the company’s distinctive blue livery and will be used for a variety of missions including school contracts, rail replacement services, and day trips – demonstrating the eVoTor’s suitability as a flexible, reliable and cost-efficient workhorse. It joins an 18-strong mixed vehicle fleet, 14 of which are now built on a Volvo chassis.

Prioritising comfort and convenience, each passenger seat is equipped with a seat back table, magazine net, footrest, and individual USB charging port. The coach has also been fitted with a DAB radio, Bluetooth/MPD/USB player, two interior LED passenger screens, LED destination display, and a centrally located sunken freshwater toilet. Three Star Coaches also opted for a side-mounted wheelchair lift, making the vehicle fully PSVAR-compliant.
Dudley adds: “Our drivers love the Volvo product and are so excited about the new vehicle; there’s intense competition for who will get to drive it! I think that says a lot about the performance, handling and ride quality of the Volvo and MCV combination.”
Designed to deliver the ultimate fuel efficiency, the B8R MCV eVoTor is powered by Volvo’s D8K engine, delivering up to 350hp and 1,585 Nm of peak torque. Paired with a 12-speed I-Shift automated transmission, it combines smooth and precise gearshifts with high average speeds and excellent drivability – making it a popular choice with drivers.
Three Star Coaches operates a full range of services including day excursions, private hire work, school and corporate contracts, plus trips to sporting events and theatre performances. It supports a loyal customer base spread across Luton, Dunstable, Bedford, Milton Keynes and beyond.
