The family run firm had purchased a two-month old vehicle of the same combination last year and were so impressed with its performance that when they decided to invest in a ‘flagship’ vehicle to celebrate their anniversary, there was only one option.
Specified with Volvo’s DH12E engine rated at 420hp, coupled to the I-Shift gearbox, the 51 seat vehicle features full climate control, three point seatbelts throughout, toilet, DVD player and facilities for hot and cold drinks.
Not surprisingly it has proved an instant hit with both drivers and passengers.
“Our drivers love it, as we knew they would,” says proprietor, John Hunter. “The fuel consumption is excellent and they tell us it’s a dream to drive. And we have been pleasantly surprised by the reaction of our passengers – they all love it.
“One of our regular customers telephoned me last week to say how much the entire party had enjoyed their trip on the coach, in terms of comfort and also being able to enjoy the view. This is exactly the kind of reaction we want to hear – it’s fantastic for customer relations and it’s great for business!”
John added, “If this is the kind of impact a new Volvo has, this will be the first of many!”
Located in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Hunters’ 12-strong fleet ranges from minibuses to full size executive coaches. The company specialises in private and contract hire with services ranging from airport transfer and weddings to school trips and day excursions throughout Scotland. The new coach is to be used for luxury private hire and touring work on behalf of holiday operators.
