Volvo Bus have strengthened their Customer Service department with two key appointments – Andy Olver who has joined the company as Area Service Manager and Steve Hall who has taken on the role of Parts Development Manager.

As Area Service Manager, Andy is responsible for central England, central Wales, East Anglia (north of Cambridge) and London (for bus products).

Andy has a long pedigree in the automotive industry, beginning as a technician and foreman at the independent Volvo dealership, Saltash Trucks in 1979. He moved to Volvo in Warwick in 1989 and held various positions such as Technical Training Instructor, Service Engineer, Product Quality Engineer and testing future products within the Volvo Field Test department. A move into commercial vehicle fleet services with Volvo Group owned BRS Ltd in 2001 to manage their National Maintenance Centre was followed by a spell at Fraikin Ltd as their Supply Chain Manager, prior to his return to Volvo.

Andy joins a team of four other Area Service Managers, headed by Derek Mayor, Service Manager UK and Eire, who are responsible for all bus and coach service support activity, including liaison with the Volvo dealer network and key customers.

Volvo Bus’ other new appointment marks a return to the Volvo aftermarket business for Steve Hall, as Parts Development Manager. When he originally joined the company in 1989 Steve spent five years working for the Parts organisation from its base in Lutterworth and then Rugby. He has since spent 15 years in the Volvo Bus sales administration department, most latterly as Customer Liaison Manager responsible for the order to delivery process.

In his new role Steve will work closely with Key Customers and the Volvo Dealer network in order to develop parts sales.

Steve is responsible for the south of the UK and will work alongside fellow Parts Development Manager, Chris Morris, who is responsible for the north of the UK and Ireland.

Customer Services Director, Andy Kunze commented, “Both Steve and Andy are tremendous additions to the team. Steve’s previous experience in parts procurement and extensive knowledge of the bus and coach industry will play a major part in the development of the parts business between our customers and the Volvo Dealer Network; whilst Andy brings a wealth of technical expertise from 30 years’ experience in the industry.

“I am confident moving forwards that our Customer Services team, working in conjunction with the Volvo Dealer network, is well positioned to fully support our customers and all their aftermarket requirements.”
