The new vehicles are specified with Volvo’s Euro 4 compliant, fuel efficient 12 litre engine rated at 420hp, coupled to the Volvo I-Shift gearbox.
At 14 metres in length the Jonckheere HV body permits a passenger capacity of 57 seats, as well as providing generous, uninterrupted luggage capacity. However, Lochs and Glens have kept seating to 57 to maximise legroom, whilst passengers also benefit from full climate control, toilet, TV/DVD player, fridge and servery.
The delivery represents both renewal and expansion for the company whose all-Volvo tri-axle fleet is now 19 strong. Transport Manager, Norman Chinnock is satisfied that the new vehicles create the right impression. “There is no doubt that they are head turners – stunning looking vehicles which look great in our livery – and their performance is everything we have come to expect from Volvo,” he commented.
All seven coaches are being used for transporting holidaymakers from around the UK to one of Lochs and Glens’ luxury hotels, each of which is situated in a picturesque location overlooking a Scottish loch.
