“It wasn’t that we had moved away from Volvo,” explained Kerry Coaches Transport Manager Allan O’Connor, “it was just that we looked at other options, but we are absolutely delighted with the purchase of these two vehicles”.

Long-standing Volvo customers Kerry have a fleet of 50 vehicles, including coaches and mini buses. All of their vehicles, including the two new coaches, are specified in white with the Kerry Coaches livery.

Each of the new coaches has a Volvo B12B 420hp rear engine, I-shift transmission, satellite navigation, reversing camera and air operated central continental door. They also emit low noise levels, due to greater sound insulation, providing a more comfortable and relaxing ride for both the driver and passengers.

The interior features spacious ergonomic club class seating for 49 passengers, with side shift mechanism and 3-point safety belts. The seats have leather head rests and side cheeks, whilst all of the side windows have curtains and blinds. There are also aircraft style luggage lockers, fridge, boiler, central demountable toilet, on board vehicle wash, bi-xenon headlight system and a European touring kit.

Spacious, reliable and productive, the Volvo 9700 provides passengers with every comfort, including Volvo ‘Sound and Vision’ audio visual with twin motorised flip down LCD monitors. The driveline, vehicle handling qualities and ergonomic driver’s area are designed to make the driving experience comfortable, effortless and enjoyable.

Kerry Coaches operate tours all around Ireland providing transport for organised groups and holiday makers. Both of the new Volvo’s are expected to be pressed into service ready for the busy May rush period.

“The reliability of the Volvo vehicles is always a major factor for us when we purchase a new coach,” explained Allan O’Connor.
“We have an excellent relationship with Volvo and were pleased to be able to conclude a deal to take these two fully integrated vehicles. We will continue to work with Volvo in the future to find solutions for our transport requirements”.

Explains James Hyde, Volvo Coach and Sales Manager for UK and Ireland “It’s the first time in a while we’ve provided new vehicles for Kerry Coaches, although we’ve always continued a strong working relationship with them. It’s always nice to see a deal come to fruition and they now have two really nice new vehicles.

There are now over 30 Volvo 9700's operating in Ireland and the product has been a huge success since its introduction in 2006. Specification demands and customer expectations are high and the 9700 fits perfectly into this category. All of this is backed up by the most comprehensive dealer network of any bus and coach marque designed to supply customers with 100% Volvo parts, service and support.
