Volvo plan a grand opening for new Coventry Bus & Coach Sales Centre

Volvo’s new, purpose-built Bus and Coach Sales Centre in Coventry will see Stephen Barber, the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) UK’s Director of Coaching officially open the centre on Friday 20th August at 12.00 noon. The opening marks a special two day event on the Friday and Saturday where visitors can be among the first to see Volvo’s new facilities.

“The move is all about offering our customers the very best in terms of location and facilities, placing customer service at the top of Volvo’s agenda”, commented Nick Page, Volvo’s Coach Sales Director. “While we want to show our customers the excellent facilities at the new centre, we also want their families to come and enjoy the day in Coventry.”

To mark the occasion the two day grand opening promises to be a family fun filled event where members of the Volvo team will be on hand to show visitors around the new facilities. Everyone will receive a gift bag and have the chance to ride and drive a Volvo 9700. There will be hospitality, children’s entertainment and events throughout the day plus the opportunity to win prizes, including Volvo merchandise.

There will be a number of displays supporting the event including Volvo Truck & Bus Centre with its Road Crew shop and support material along with Bus & Coach Aftermarket and Dealer information. Volvo Classic Road Tour, due to start a 1180 mile non-stop, 3-day challenge on September 8 in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, will have Volvo Bus Service Manager UK and Eire Derek Mayor’s classic two seater Morgan sportscar on show and the BMW R1200 GS motorbike of Barry Mace, Volvo Service Manager for Eire.

Centrally located on Middlemarch Business Park, close to Coventry airport, just off the main A46, the new Volvo Bus & Coach Sales Centre has moved from Loughborough to Siskin Parkway East. The 2.5 acre site has undergone extensive refurbishment to provide modernised offices, reception, a visitor’s entrance area and meeting room.

The new centre is just ten minutes away from Volvo’s UK headquarters in Warwick and also benefits from being right next to Coventry’s Volvo Truck and Bus Centre. They will provide support by taking responsibility for all new vehicle preparation and PDI checks as well as MOT work and chassis requirements. In addition, the dedicated coach cleaning bay will enable preparations to be carried out away from the main sales site.

Volvo’s Coach Sales Manager, UK & Ireland, James Hyde welcomed the relocation to Coventry commenting, “There has never been a greater time for operators to come and find out what Volvo has to offer and we will have some exclusive special offers on vehicles throughout the two day event.

Coventry can accommodate 74 coaches and aims to have every model available for customers to inspect and test drive. The new premises mean that customers can examine the coaches with ease as the vehicles will be readily accessible parked on the spacious display areas of the new sales centre.
