Specified with Volvo’s Euro 5 incentive D7E 7.1 litre engine rated at 290hp and fitted with Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 2 bodywork, the new vehicle offers a stylish design and reliable performance.

Family run business Perryman’s was established in 1974 and operates in the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. This recent bus purchase continues Perryman’s strong association with Volvo. They first purchased a Volvo Plaxton Coach in 2001 and such has been the growth of the relationship between the two firms, Volvo remains the preferred choice for Perryman’s when purchasing large vehicles.

“The Volvo/Wrightbus combination was something that we were looking for as it has a proven track record and we find that you get what you pay for,” explained Perryman’s Bus Manager Roddy Perryman. “We’ve had them before and we really like the styling on the new bus.

“With this latest addition we know that we have a fleet that we can be proud of and one which is still relatively young,” he continued. “We want to make sure we are continually re-investing in our buses to provide the best possible service to our customers and our excellent relationship with Volvo Bus and Arthur Argyle allows us to ensure this happens”.

Perryman’s Buses new B7RLE has a capacity of 45 and each seat is fitted with a 3-point safety belt to ensure the safety of all passengers. The bus is specified with a Mobitec LED destination screen, fitted by McKennas of Middleton, a Siemens digital tachograph, GPS and 8 individual CCTV cameras, linked to an integrated 17 inch surveillance monitor.

Fitted with Perryman’s distinctive standard blue, red and white livery, the new vehicle joins a Volvo rich fleet of 17 buses and 18 coaches and a small number of mini buses and cars. It will be used on a variety of scheduled routes including the popular Berwick-upon-Tweed to Edinburgh service, as well as local routes and school contracts.

“We have an excellent relationship with Perryman’s Buses,” explained Arthur Argyle. “Their commitment to continually specify Volvo says a lot for our vehicles performance, our customer service and the relationships that we build with operators.

“They have just taken a really nice new vehicle and I hope that we will continue our successful relationship with them for many years to come”.
