“We’ve been delighted with the performance of our first Volvo 9700 prestige plus,” explained Managing Director, Graham Urquhart. “So when the opportunity arose to take a second Volvo 9700 prestige plus, we jumped at the chance. It was the all-Volvo factor that sold the first vehicle to us and this again, was a massive factor in the acquisition of our second coach. It means we know we can trust the quality and that it is an all round high spec vehicle”.

Urquhart’s second coach is specified with a rear placed 12.1 litre engine, rated at 420hp and the B12B also features Volvo’s I-Shift technology, which ensures lower fuel consumption and less harmful emissions.

The 9700’s independent front suspension provides a more comfortable ride, whilst the latest generation of Electronic Braking System facilitates smoother braking and greater all round road holding.

Supplementing Urquhart’s distinctive exterior styling is class leading interior safety performance and design. The TS2000 comfort plus club class seats offer spacious, ergonomic seating for 49 passengers. All seats have a side shift mechanism, 3 point safety belts and are specified in blue leather with head rest and side cheeks. In keeping with the previous coach Urquhart’s purchased earlier this year, all windows have matching curtains and blinds.

Passengers are provided with an onboard CD/DVD player, ‘Sound and Vision’ audio visual with twin motorised flip down LCD monitors, whilst an integrated CCTV system helps to provide further safety and security. The vehicle is also fitted with a centre demountable toilet, satellite navigation and a reversing camera to assist the driver during difficult manoeuvres.

The 9700’s ergonomic driving area means that the driving experience is more comfortable, effortless and enjoyable, allowing the driver optimal performance during longer journeys.

Volvo Bus and Coach Regional Sales Manager, Jim Newman, was delighted to sell Graham Urquhart a second 9700 so soon after he purchased his last vehicle. “I’ve known Graham a long time and I believe we have built up a good and trusting business relationship. I know he was pleased with his first new 9700 and was looking for another vehicle, so it was great that we could sort this out for him”.

Graham Urquhart Travel now has seven coaches in their fleet with their new Volvo 9700 set to join the vehicle purchased early this year on a range of high specification private hire contracts.
