Specified with Volvo’s EEV standard Euro 5 Incentive, common rail fuel injection D7E 7.1 litre engine, rated at 290hp and a ZF 6HP554N six speed gearbox, the 12.15m vehicle features stylish Wrightbus Eclipse 2 bodywork and a stainless steel exhaust system with a SCR catalytic converter.

Fitted with 45 special upholstered Lazzerini seats, each with integrated three point safety belts and room for a further 31 standees, there is plenty of capacity to allow Henry Cooper Coaches to continue providing a top class bus service across a number of different contracts. The company operates both morning and evening services spanning the local area.

“I’m a Volvo man,” explained Graham Greaves, A partner at Henry Cooper Coaches. “We always run them, they prove good all round vehicles. With this order Volvo met our specifications exactly and we’re very pleased with it”.

“Over the years we’ve had all types of Volvos B10Ms, B7s, B6s, B12s – you name it we’ve had it! The VolvoWrightbus combination is something that we really like and I think they have raised the bar with this vehicle”.

Graham also outlined the importance of Volvo’s customer service package, “We’ve got Volvo Truck and Bus North, just down the road and we know we can rely on them. Volvo generally though is very good to deal with, I’ve known Arthur (Argyle, Volvo Bus, Regional Commercial Manager) for a long time and that relationship is important to us”.

Henry Cooper Coaches’ latest bus purchase takes the number of vehicles in their fleet to eight, all of which are Volvo specified. The new B7RLE featuring Henry Cooper Coaches traditional orange and cream livery will enter service in September.

Volvo’s Regional Commercial Manager, Arthur Argyle commented, “To have a customer that keeps coming back is always nice, because it demonstrates that we must be doing things right, both in terms of the product we supply and the service that we provide”.
