“We’ve certainly used Volvo’s over the last 14 years,” explained owner, Simon Dew, “but this is our first new Volvo coach since 1997. Volvo provided us with a B13R demonstrator earlier this year, it performed well and we really liked it. Off the back of that we decided to open discussions about purchasing a new coach”.

The new Dews tri-axle coach features Volvo’s 13-litre diesel engine rated at 460 bhp and specified to Euro 5, connected to the proven I-Shift 12-speed automated gearbox. The B13R’s ergonomic design with easy-reach controls, adjustable driver’s seat and steering wheel make it a popular coach with drivers and operators alike.

It has 53 leather trimmed passenger seats, with leather head rests and three point safety belts, an internal toilet, TV monitors, servery, CD/DVD player, reversing camera and satellite navigation.

“We were told good things about the fuel efficiency of the B13R,” continued Simon Dew. “With the amount of miles we cover, we need a vehicle that is proven safe and reliable for our passengers, but also one that won’t cost us the earth in terms of fuel performance. We’re all excited to see how the B13R performs in the coming months”.

Dews have put the new Volvo B13R coach into operation across their international tour programme. They provide organised travel for parties wishing to visit a variety of destinations and countries.

“This is the first new coach we’ve sold to Dews in over a decade,” explained Volvo Bus Regional Sales Manager, Jo Standbridge. “Obviously it is fabulous to be able to do business with them again and hopefully they will really begin to see the benefits of the coach now it is in full operation across their extensive tour programme”.
