The Gartocharn registered company operates 16 coaches, all of which are specified on the Volvo chassis. “We’ve run a fleet of all Volvo coaches since Lochs and Glens was set up,” explained Transport Manager, Norman Chinnock. “We were looking to upgrade our fleet and considering our past relationship with Volvo, this was just a natural progression”.
“They are stunning looking vehicles which look great in our livery and with Volvo we know the performance levels to expect,” he continued.
Lochs and Glens new 57 seater vehicle is specified with Volvo’s Euro 5 complaint, fuel efficient 13 litre diesel engine rated 460hp, coupled to the Volvo I-Shift gearbox. The coach is supplied in an eye-catching light Ivory and features the company’s logo on the livery.
An ergonomic driving position, with easy-reach controls, adjustable driver’s seat and steering wheel means the B13R is a popular choice with drivers and makes it ideal for long journeys, such as those undertaken on the Lochs and Glens tour programme.
With CCTV, CD & DVD capability, as well as an on-board toilet, the new Volvo B13R is equally suited to the needs of its passengers, which is of the highest importance to Lochs and Glens. In addition to their fleet of 16 coaches the company also operates six hotels situated in a variety of idyllic locations.
