“We really were pleasantly surprised,” said David Sullivan, managing director of Volvo Truck & Bus Centre East Anglia, who received the award. “Everyone here has been working tremendously hard in building our relationship with Volvo Bus and their customers and we have had a number of activities in order to help us achieve that.

“One of our initiatives has been to develop our Frontline bus technicians and we now have 12 across the network and also to enhance our Dealerpoints making them more bus and coach focused. We have done a lot of cultural change too at the dealerships, embracing bus and coach through joint promotional activity in cooperation with Volvo Bus.

“As a result we have grown the business for service, maintenance, support services and parts sales on the bus and coach side, looking after bus companies and a growing number of coach operators.

“Winning the Volvo Bus Dealership of the Year clearly demonstrates that the hard work we have put in is clearly paying off.”

East Anglia is an integral part of the Volvo Truck and Bus dealer network with 11 Dealerpoints from Leicestershire and Warwickshire to the Norfolk and Suffolk coast. Their Dealerpoints are located at Bardon, Bury St Edmunds, Coventry, Daventry, Ely, Felixstowe, Ipswich, Kettering, Norwich, Peterborough and Thetford.

Those depots enjoying particular success servicing bus and coach operators include: Norwich, Ipswich and Coventry, while the relatively new Bardon depot is starting to enjoy a similar success rate with coach operator.

“There is no doubt that East Anglia has made great strides over the past year to enhance its bus and coach offer to coach operators and bus groups alike,” said Steve Dewhurst, Volvo Bus UK Managing Director.

“The work the team have put in made them a clear winner, particularly with the initiatives they instigated throughout the year, always embracing the Volvo initiative of Customer Commitment. That has been clearly visible through the increasing number of operators that now use the East Anglia Dealerpoints on a regular basis.
