Volvo will be flying the flag at the UK Coach Rally

Volvo Bus will increase its presence at this year’s UK Coach Rally, which takes place at the East of England Showground, Peterborough, on the weekend of April 9-10.

The company will have the very latest version of the Volvo 9700 Prestige Plus coach, on the new B13R chassis, a liveried Volvo B9R coach and 5 pre-owned coaches on display, in addition to the Volvo hospitality unit.

“We were delighted with last year’s event and as a result decided, at an early stage, to increase our presence at Peterborough this year,” explained Don Johnston of Volvo Bus. “It is a great opportunity for us to meet up with operators from all over the UK and for them to try the latest models that we have to offer.”

A change in emphasis from Volvo Bus in that the company will also have on show 5 pre-owned coaches. “There’s nothing like seeing and test driving a vehicle, so Peterborough is ideal in that respect for us to showcase some fine examples of pre-owned coaches that we have available. The other benefit to operators is that we will be offering some special show promotions as well.”

Making its first appearance at the UK Coach Rally, the Volvo 9700 features the new, three-axle B13R chassis platform that combines flexibility with even greater stability, handling and passenger comfort. It benefits from the new, highly responsive Volvo D13C engine, a 13 litre, in-line, 6 cylinder, Euro 5 compliant turbocharged diesel with intercooler, delivering an impressive 460 hp.

“With the benefits of the B13R chassis, the Volvo 9700 coach continues to set the benchmark for executive class coaches, delivering excellent passenger comfort, along with stylish exterior lines and even greater operational efficiency.”

Also on display will be a new, Volvo B9R Sunsundegui Sideral in the livery of Cropley, the Boston based operator who will take delivery of the vehicle at the show. Already proving extremely popular, the Volvo B9R combines excellent driveability with a high level of comfort, while kneeling is included as standard.

“We are really looking forward to the event and meeting up with coach operators to demonstrate how they can benefit from the Volvo Bus offer and our commitment to customer satisfaction,” added Don Johnston of Volvo Bus.
