The company has been specifying Volvo since they were founded in 1971 and their ten new B9Rs are part of a larger order for 30 new vehicles, all of which are due for delivery during 2011.

Customised in Park’s distinctive black, silver and gold livery on the Jonckheere bodywork, the Volvo B9Rs, with fully automated I-Shift transmission, incorporate a VR3250 compact retarder providing powerful auxiliary braking. Combined with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and anti-slip regulation (ASR) this ensures the vehicles have top of the range safety as standard.

The interior of the vehicles feature 53 reclining high quality executive seats, air conditioning and TV monitors with an integrated DVD player.

Offering real passenger luxury and comfort, Park’s new B9R coaches also have integrated drinks machines and fridges and centre demountable toilets making them ideally suited for tours and long distance travel.

Park’s of Hamilton Director, Michael Andrews explained, “We operate only the most modern, up-to-date vehicles, fully air-conditioned and featuring reclining seats. The B9R offers us the perfect blend of quality, affordability and excellent fuel consumption combined with exceptional passenger comfort.

“We’ve been specifying Volvo since our inception and we know the standards that they set, both in terms of their vehicles and their aftermarket care – and that’s perfect for us.  We also really like the style of the Jonckheere JHV body, so to be able to consistently specify this winning combination is exceptionally pleasing”.

“I think Park’s of Hamilton is a prime example of our customer commitment here at Volvo Bus,” commented Volvo Bus Sales Consultant, Brian Walker. “We have established an excellent relationship with Park’s and they know that we listen closely to our customers and constantly adapt to meet their needs.

“It’s absolutely fantastic that once again we were able to meet their specific requirements and supply the perfect vehicles,” he continued.

Park’s of Hamilton’s new Volvo B9R coaches have already entered operational service across the company’s extensive UK tours, mixed contracts and on their private hire work, which includes some of Scotland’s leading football clubs.
