Featuring tablet ready data and display, the new ‘free to download’ App has been specifically developed to encompass the bigger, more user friendly format of the iPad, further enhancing bus and coach operators’ interaction with Volvo Bus. The larger format of the iPad offers a visually impressive, easy to use display placing all of the latest information at people’s finger tips including a dedicated news and social media feed.
“Our commitment to new technologies to support increased operating efficiencies are a key part of our customer commitment,” explained Steve Dewhurst, Volvo Bus UK Managing Director. “The iPad platform is becoming an increasingly important business tool and this development is part of our continued drive to use new media proactively as we roll it out across an even wider platform during the year.”
In the tablet format the iPad App is a source of continuous Volvo Bus news keeping operators, journalists and stakeholders up-to-date with all the latest developments and its interactive features encourage a direct, on-going dialogue with customers.
The App provides an overview of the entire bus and coach range, demonstrated throughout with the latest graphics enabling operators to compare and consider all the vehicle options available in the UK and Irish markets. Additionally it allows people to access a Used Bus & Coach finder in order to view the selection of quality, pre-owned vehicles available from the company.
In the Aftermarket section all the details on Volvo’s new telematics offering, special promotions, preventative maintenance programmes, parts supply and soft products options are available.
A Dealer Locator facility uses location services built into the iPad to allow operators to find their nearest dealer across the extensive Volvo network. A dedicated Volvo Action Service section not only provides details of UK and Ireland emergency number, but also those throughout Europe.
There is even a dedicated news feed delivering the latest information on the Volvo Ocean Race, making sure users are fully aware of the latest developments ahead of the race completion next month (July) in Galway.
The Volvo Bus and Coach iPad App is free to download and is readily available direct from the Apple App Store.
