Android App launch for Volvo Bus at Euro Bus Expo

Having already successfully launched iPhone and iPad Apps earlier this year, this week’s Euro Bus Expo 2012 sees Volvo Bus officially unveil their latest development – The Volvo Bus and Coach Android App.

Aligned with the company’s growing reputation for never standing still, the launch of the Android App ensures that for the very first time anyone with access to smartphone technology can access a wealth of Volvo Bus, information, while on the go.

The ‘free to download’ and visually striking with an easy-to-use interface, the Android App provides a clear overview of Volvo’s extensive product range, including the new 7900 hybrid single deck bus and the new B11R coach, both of which have been unveiled at Euro Bus Expo.

“We had an extremely positive reaction to the industry leading launch of our Apple based Apps with over 1300 downloads to date,” explained Volvo Bus Managing Director, Steve Dewhurst. “As part of our ongoing commitment to the business partnership with our customers and further supporting our philosophy of never standing still, it was logical that we also developed an Android phone App.

“Operators can use our new Android App to compare and consider the different vehicle options available in the UK and Irish Markets at their leisure. It even includes the new vehicles we have officially launched here at Euro Bus Expo 2012.”

The new Volvo Bus and Coach App also has a built in Dealer Locator making clever use of Android location services, allowing operators to use their phone to find directions to their nearest dealer, across the extensive Volvo network.

Data on special promotions, parts supply and soft products are built into a dedicated Aftermarket section of the App, to keep operators fully informed of the wider Volvo offering.

In addition and further supporting Volvo’s constant forward thinking attitude and innovative approach, the new Android App features a continuous news and social media feed, enabling the company’s latest information updates to be viewed through mobile phones.
