The new support packages have been tailored to suit the varying needs of bus and coach operations. Incorporating an element of Telematics, the new coach package includes one year Volvo Fleet Management, as well as two years European Blue Contract (two years, 160,000 km). The new Volvo bus package offers one year Fleet Management and two years free annual inspection.
The initiative, supported by the extensive Volvo dealer network, provides not only peace of mind, but also tangible operational benefits, such as enhanced productivity and additional fuel savings.
Fleet Management is a service that helps operators keep track of fleet performance. Fuel consumption, emissions, driving profile, events and positioning are the basic functions. For each of these there is detailed information and reports to supply a comprehensive picture of how vehicles are being driven. The information serves as a basis for planning and actions in order to reduce fuel consumption, wear and tear, and emissions.
Volvo’s European Blue Contract covers all necessary preventive maintenance required to keep vehicles in peak condition. Through planned and regular inspections, Volvo helps to protect operator’s licences and minimise downtime.
The overall aim with the development of the new Volvo Bus support packages is to provide operators with more time to focus on their core business and better control their total Euro 6 operating costs, with improved operational efficiency and increased uptime.
“We’re very proud of our new Euro 6 product range,” explained Managing Director, Nick Page. “We are extremely confident in the reliability and performance of the vehicles and as a result we are able to offer new, inclusive support packages to give our customers added peace of mind.
“For operators there is absolutely no doubt that Euro 6 has been a daunting prospect, and at Volvo Bus we are doing everything in our power to ensure that the transition to the new emission standard is as smooth as possible,” continued Nick Page.
