Having purchased another Volvo B11R with Plaxton bodywork earlier this year, the company was keen to measure the performance of that vehicle against coaches from other manufacturers in its fleet. The results from that trial persuaded Coopers Tourmaster to order a second new Volvo B11R, this time with Jonckheere bodywork.
Featuring a Volvo D11K Euro 6 430hp vertical rear mounted engine and the 12 speed I-Shift gearbox, the Volvo B11R is a reliable and high quality executive passenger coach.
Specified with 53 passenger seats, demountable toilet, fridge, two TV screens and leather trimmed seats, Coopers Tourmaster’s new B11R is set to be a high specification touring vehicle. Once delivered the vehicle will also be the company’s first Jonckheere bodied coach.
“We took the opportunity earlier this year to purchase a B11R Plaxton,” explained Coopers Tourmaster’s Managing Director, John Cooper. “We hadn’t bought Volvo for a number of years, but we’d heard good things about the new range. The vehicle has exceeded all of our expectations as we are achieving average fuel figures of more than 12mpg, with the latest measurement coming in at an impressive 12.8mpg.”
He continued, “Obviously this is great news for us because we are saving money with every tour the coach undertakes. Not only that, but the Frontline Technicians from Volvo Bus are second to none. We’ve got to know our Technician Darren Waterstone and whenever we need him, he’s here as quick as a flash; it’s just an exceptional service all round.
“All of those factors played a highly significant role in us ordering a second B11R at Euro Bus Expo. I was really impressed with the Volvo stand and the staff, they were as welcoming as ever and we were delighted to be able to finalise the order. I’d also like to specifically mention Volvo Bus Regional Sales Manager, Jo Standbridge who has been very thorough and easy to do business with,” he concluded.
Jo Standbridge commented: “Coopers Tourmaster has had a really positive experience with the B11R. The company is achieving outstanding fuel results and they’ve given us excellent feedback. Therefore it opened an opportunity to sell a second B11R, but this time with Jonckheere bodywork.
