Well aware of Volvo’s reputation for safety and performance, having specified Volvo coaches previously along with the strength of the brand gave New Adventure Travel the confidence to purchase two Volvo B9R coaches.
Based near Cardiff city centre, the operator runs a mix of local contracts, UK and European private hire and holidays. They also have premier sporting contracts with Swansea City Football Club and Cardiff Devils Hockey Club.
The two new Volvo B9R coaches are specified with 53 passenger seats and an onboard toilet. They are already operating on New Adventure Travel’s Anglia Tours contract and are making regular continental excursions in their busy tour programme.
Special anniversary tours to France mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy will see the new coaches at capacity especially during June.
“We love the Volvo Jonckheere combination,” explained New Adventure Travel Group Managing Director, Kevin Jones. “They are good solid and reliable vehicles and our drivers like the I-Shift gearbox because it makes their life so much easier.
“Having specified Volvo previously and with purchasing a B11R last year, we know the emphasis Volvo places on safety. The health and well-being of our passengers is of paramount importance to us and with Volvo we get safety and reliability as standard.”
The two new B9Rs feature Volvo’s rear-mounted D9B 9.4 litre engine, capable of 380hp and also have electronically controlled air suspension to provide a greater level of comfort for passengers.
“Volvo coaches currently make up a relatively small percentage of New Adventure Travel Group’s overall fleet,” explained Regional Coach Sales Manager, Jo Standbridge. “This is something we’d like to change over time. They are fully aware of our reputation and our safety ethos and we are looking to continue building our relationship with them.”
