Featuring a striking new livery the Volvo B9R is a significant new purchase for Tally Ho, who have only previously specified Volvo pre-owned coaches.
The new 53-seat luxury-touring vehicle has already entered into operation on the company’s UK and continental tour work and early feedback has proved positive.
“Our holiday business is growing fast and the programme features varied work including continental tours,” explained Tally Ho Coaches Managing Director, Don McIntosh. “We needed a quality coach that would be very reliable and that also had strong kerb appeal.
“Throughout the purchasing process we dealt with Richard Mann at Volvo Bus and he was extremely supportive and knowledgeable. He recommended the B9R Jonckheere and it certainly fits our requirements. We’re delighted with it!”
Don McIntosh continued, “With Volvo Bus you get the complete package. They are responsive and you have the reassurance of their dealer network. The vehicle is already hard at work and although it’s early days the fuel consumption performance has been a very pleasant surprise.”
Tally Ho Coaches new B9R is specified with Volvo’s rear-mounted, 6-cylinder, 9-litre diesel engine rated at 380hp. The coach is fitted with a smooth and efficient Volvo I-Shift 12-speed fully automated mechanical gearbox along with the VR3250 compact retarder, offering very powerful auxiliary braking.
