Pierce Kavanagh, Managing Director of Pierce Kavanagh Coaches, explains: “When we are buying new vehicles for our fleet, we always insist on Volvo as in my mind they are definitely the market leaders in terms of appearance, passenger comfort, fuel consumption and emissions.
“Much of our work involves the transportation of American tourists visiting Ireland and it is important that we are offering them a true frontline coach and in the Volvo B11R 9700, we have this. We bought a Volvo 9700 seven years ago and it looks as impressive today as it did the day we bought it, so when we were looking for a new flagship coach for our fleet, we had no hesitation in going for the 9700 again, but this time with the Euro 6 chassis.
He added: “As far as I’m concerned, I only want to see five letters on the front of our coaches and they spell out V O L V O.”
Aftersales service and support is also important to Pierce Kavanagh and he added: “Inevitably with all vehicles occasionally things need fixing, but it is how this is handled and the time it takes that is important. We work with Irish Commercials with whom we have a great relationship and they provide us with excellent service and back up as and when we need it.
“We’re absolutely delighted with this latest addition to our fleet and as usual, our dealings with the Volvo team including Retail Sales Director James Hyde and our Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, David Porter, have been great from the initial purchasing process right the way through to us taking delivery of the coach.”
