The Wooler based company currently has four Volvo coaches within its fleet and the decision to purchase the new B11R was based on excellent value for money and the quality of aftersales from Volvo.
Iain Moffat, Director at Glen Valley Tours, explained: “We needed a new 53 seater for our fleet and the new vehicle will be deployed to service our UK tour business as well as some European work.
“We particularly liked the look of the Jonckheere bodywork as well as the fuel consumption and operational performance offered by this coach. We’ve always received excellent aftersales support from our local Volvo Bus dealerships in Blythe and also Washington, which was another key consideration in our purchase of this new vehicle.”
Phil Hudson, Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager for Volvo Bus, said: “Glen Valley Tours have purchased several of our coaches over the years and we’re pleased to be supplying them with the very latest B11R.
“The B11R is becoming widely recognised as a vehicle offering the best in performance as well as for the quality of its many features with operators the length and breadth of the UK.”
The B11R is at the centre of Volvo’s next generation of coaches and the key benefits include the renowned Volvo I-Shift transmission, automatic function check and trouble-free maintenance. It also benefits from a range of Volvo’s well known safety features, such as the powerful EBS controlled disc brakes and a multiplexed electronics system.
The new vehicle is fitted with all the features expected from today’s coach traveller including leather headrests as well as TV and DVD player, hot drink servery, fridge and toilet. A built in onboard vacuum cleaner provides convenient easy to use cleaning for the operator.
Glen Valley Tours is a family run business that has been established for more than 40 years and specialises bus and private coach hire. This includes schools work as well as the company’s own tours and day trips.
