The two buses, which feature MCV Evolution bodywork, will be deployed on the new services recently won by South West Coaches which encompass the Yeovil – Crewkerne – Chard routes. The vehicles will also be used for school and college contract work.
Alan Graham, Owner of South West Coaches, said: “Upon being awarded these new routes, we had a need for quality, high specification and volume capacity vehicles. This is also particularly important for our school and college work. Our new buses feature all the latest passenger safety, comfort and convenience benefits, such as three-point lap belts and security cameras.
“We have a large proportion of Volvo buses and coaches within our fleet and our experience of the product has always been excellent, so we had no hesitation in going for Volvo again this time.
“Our Volvo Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, Richard Mann, has been great throughout the process of vehicle selection and specification, right through to the final delivery stage and we’re excited to see our new buses entering service.”
Richard Mann added: “These new routes are an important business gain for South West Coaches and they wanted the highest standard specification possible with excellent fuel efficiency and consumption. It’s good to know that they have such confidence in Volvo and keep coming back to us to provide the solution to their vehicle needs.”
South West Coaches has been established for more than 75 years and is a family owned and run business. The company has depots in Wincanton, Yeovil, and Portland and also has its own maintenance team and facilities.
