The family owned and operated business took delivery of the 12.3m, 49/51 seater executive coach to add to its mixed fleet, which covers various work including private and corporate hire as well as UK and continental touring.
Barnes Coaches Director, Luke Barnes, explained: “We have always liked the Volvo brand and have heard good things about the B11R 9700, including positive feedback on the quality, appearance and operational performance.
“We decided this was the coach for us on this occasion and it is the first luxury integral B11R 9700 we have bought to add to our fleet.”
Volvo’s Driver Support System (DSS) is fitted as standard on the B11R 9700 which includes AEBS (forward collision warning and advanced emergency braking systems), LKS (lane keeping support) and ACC (adaptive cruise control). ACC will also be offered as an option on other Volvo B11R body types when specified with the I-Shift gearbox.
Luke Barnes added: “We receive good aftersales support from Truck and Bus Wales & West in Swindon, who we use for all our external service requirements which was another reason for selecting a Volvo coach.”
Volvo Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, Richard Mann, said: “It is great to deliver this fully integral coach to Barnes Coaches. We are confident they will benefit from the fuel economy performance offered by the vehicle and that their passengers will enjoy all the comforts they expect from this state of the art coach.”
Barnes Coaches is a family run company which has more than 95 years’ experience with a full range of coaches from eight – 100 seaters to cater for any occasion and customer needs from European touring to school and private hire.
