Owner Brian O’Donnell said: “My father ordered our first Volvo coach in 1992 and as a result of our positive experiences, we have only used Volvo with various body combinations ever since. The Volvo B11R 9700 is a high quality coach and in my opinion, it is in a class of its own, so it was an easy decision to select this vehicle.
“When we decided to purchase a new coach, we automatically turned to Volvo. We trust their vehicles and know that we can rely on them to provide our passengers with the level of comfort they are accustomed to receiving from our previous vehicles.
“Over the last 25 years we have built strong working relationships with our local Volvo Bus dealership Dennison Commercials and subsequently our Coach Sales Manager, David Porter.”
The Volvo 9700 combines the highly fuel efficient B11R chassis with stylish Volvo bodywork. Since its arrival in Ireland, the product has proved to be very popular among operators, particularly for the important tourist market. The vehicle delivered has been tailored to suit the needs of the operator and is specified with 55 seats.
David Porter said: “Bus Feda is a well respected operator throughout Ireland, so it is a pleasure to work with them once again with the addition of the integral 9700 to their existing fleet of 12 Volvo coaches. Brian and his team offer luxury travel to holidaymakers that arrive on cruise liners at Killybegs, through to commuters travelling to and from Donegal. It is great to know that Volvo has played its part with the company on its journey towards success.”
Starting out as a taxi service for founder Feda O’Donnell in his hometown of Ranafast in 1961, Bus Feda has gone on to become one of Ireland’s most successful coach companies. The operator transports tourists across Ireland and offers school contracts and private hire.
