The family owned and operated business took delivery of the vehicles to be used for local bus services on town and rural routes in the area.

Gareth Blair, the new Managing Director for Xelabus, who steps up to replace his father Philip Blair, said: “We have come a long way in six years after starting with only two buses, to now being Hampshire’s largest independent operator with 36 vehicles and routes spanning from the New Forest in the West to Fareham and Portsmouth in the East.  This purchase continues our plans to drive down monthly maintenance costs that are inevitable with older vehicles.

“The purchase of these two Volvo buses sees a further investment in local bus operation in the area, and we are looking at further expansion during 2017”

Volvo Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, Richard Mann, said: “It is great to be working with this up and coming business that has made a name for itself in Hampshire in the last few years and hope we are the first choice when they need new buses in the future.”
