The vehicles are some of the first on UK roads featuring the new Jonckheere JHV2 bodywork, which has had a refresh to the overall design, with new front and rear LED lights and updated bumpers bringing a sleek and modern look to the vehicles.
One of the coaches includes a bespoke luxury kitchen in the rear of the vehicle for use by the club chef, as well as private internet server, Wi-Fi, USB connections and satellite TV.
When they are not transporting top football teams around the country, the coaches will also be used for touring and school work as part of the company’s Claribel service fleet.
Andy Watkiss, Director at Birmingham International Coaches, commented: “We are a loyal, long-term customer of Volvo, having purchased a number of coaches in the past, and 30% of our existing fleet is made up of Volvo vehicles which we have been very happy with.
“Previous experience combined with good reliability, build quality and performance, meant we had no hesitation choosing Volvo once again for this latest purchase.
“Our Volvo Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, Phil Hudson, who worked with us during the process was very knowledgeable and guided us throughout, working around our specific requirements.”
Phil commented: “We are very pleased to be providing these new vehicles to Birmingham International Coaches. Our dual axle B11R chassis is widely recognised for its unrivalled quality and technical specification for operators, as well as giving excellent service and comfort to passengers.”
Birmingham International Coaches is a well-regarded and long-established family operator, with a high profile and strong reputation within the industry. The company was founded in 1977 and is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2017.
