Sligo based coach and bus operator Furey’s Coaches has taken delivery of a new Volvo B11R Euro 6 with Jonckheere bodywork.
Furey’s Coaches, has taken delivery of a new Volvo B11R Euro 6 coach as the latest addition to its fleet.

Aiden Furey, Director of Furey’s Coaches, explains: “We needed a new 53 seater for our fleet to work on our increasingly busy tour programme in Ireland.

“The savings we are expecting to make with the highly fuel efficient Euro 6 engine, as well as our previous experience of Volvo quality, operational costs and reliable support network, meant we had no hesitation in selecting Volvo once again.”

The new coach has been specified with 53 seats, a toilet and a ZF Ecolife transmission. The vehicle will predominantly be used for touring work, but also supplement the fleet for day excursions, school contracts and private hire.”

Aiden Furey added: “This is an exciting investment for our business and it was great to have Dave Porter, who is always excellent to deal with, guiding us through the whole process from initial specification through to final delivery.

“Aftermarket support is also important to us and we have a good working relationship with our local dealership, Murphy Commercials of Galway, which was also a key consideration for us when choosing Volvo Bus.”

Dave Porter said: “Furey’s Coaches has been a good customer of ours for many years now, having purchased a number of vehicles from us in the past. We’re sure they will be pleased with their new vehicle and in particular the fuel economy savings it will deliver for their business.”

A family owned and run business, Furey’s Coaches was originally established in 1972. The company specialises in coach and mini bus services for corporate travel, golf tours, school trips, sports events and professional guided tours around Ireland.
