Craig is no stranger to Volvo having previously worked at Volvo Truck and Bus for 17 years, holding positions such as Area Service Manager, Service Controller, Technician and more recently at Wood Group as a Construction Focal Point.
Talking about his new role, Craig said: “I started my career through Volvo’s apprenticeship scheme which began at Volvo Truck’s original distributor, Ailsa. I’m really looking forward to bringing my industry knowledge to my new role, as well as renewing relationships I established while working for the company.
“I’m also looking forward to bringing a fresh approach to my new position, especially when meeting local operators in the area. Having gained a trade qualification, I will have the opportunity to share my technical knowledge with customers and as a result, increase Volvo’s presence and visibility in the area.”
Retail Sales Director for Volvo Bus, James Hyde, added: “Our aim is to increase our market share in Scotland and the Outer Isles and Craig’s appointment is key to this development. Over the years he has gained crucial industry know-how and built strong relationships with operators, especially in his role with us in bus aftermarket. We’re excited to have him return to Volvo.”
Originally from Barrhead, Craig has lived in Paisley for the last eight years. In his free time, he can be found either on a golf course, with his two young daughters or supporting the Scottish national rugby team as well as regional sides in Glasgow.
