Managing Director Gareth Blair said: “Our latest additions are a significant investment for Xelabus and our local area. The vehicles deliver great fuel economy and CO2 emission reductions of more than 30%. As a company we provide a valuable service to the surrounding area, so we prioritise our impact on the environment.
“The vehicles will be serving our local community in partnership with Itchen College, running between Hedge End and Eastleigh. We have previously ordered vehicles from Volvo and enjoyed their operational performance and overall aesthetics and they have proven hugely successful with both our passengers and drivers.
“We also have a great relationship with our local Volvo Bus dealer, MC Truck and Bus in Southampton. They are always on hand should we ever need their back up and support. We know that we can rely on them and our Retail Bus and Coach Sales Manager, Sam Prothero, who has provided insight and advice on our latest order.
Sam Prothero, added: “It’s been great to work with Xelabus as they continue to invest in their local community. These orders are the first of their type in Hampshire, so it is an important milestone for the company.”
Xelabus is an independent operator offering public transport services to its local community. The company has recently announced plans to upgrade its fleet to Euro VI through Southampton City Council’s grant funding.
