Excelsior Coaches, a subsidiary of Go South Coast which is privately owned by Go-Ahead Group, has added two integral Volvo 9700 vehicles to its fleet as part of an ‘investment in quality’ business plan.

Managing Director of Go South Coast, Andrew Wickham said: “The first vehicle Go South Coast ordered was a Volvo and on the strength of what we have had before, purchasing the 9700 was an easy choice. We picked what we believe to be a quality product and we were excited to work with Volvo and get these excellent vehicles to be the best they can be for our customers.

“We first saw the 9700 at the Volvo Bus and Coach Sales Centre in Coventry and immediately liked the look of the vehicle. We simply couldn’t resist. It was important for us to choose a vehicle that gave passengers ample leg room and good luggage capacity since a lot of our work includes airport transfers.”

Fleet Sales Manager for Volvo Bus, Phil Fletcher, added: “Working with Go South Coast has been great, they wanted a three-axle vehicle that had the right passenger capacity, so they chose the Volvo 9700. Through the entire process, they thought of their customers first and what their requirements as passengers will be. We look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Andrew Wickham continued: “We acquired Excelsior Coaches in 2016 and continue to grow and invest in the business. As an operator, Go South Coast holds quality at the forefront of its business model and that includes investing in quality vehicles too.”

Acquired by Go South Coast in Autumn of 2016, Excelsior Coaches focuses on private and corporate contracts in the South of England.
