Volvo drives expansion for growing tour operator seeking ‘reliability and aftercare’

Burland Coaches has expanded its fleet with a brand new B11R Jonckheere JHV2, choosing Volvo for the first time after a careful assessment of the leading coach manufacturers.

The Nantwich-based company operates a variety of tours and excursions to popular day trip destinations including Llandudno, Warwick, Scarborough and Chelsea Flower Show.

With the business ready to expand its fleet and add extra capacity, director Steve Kemp began researching the market to explore his options.

Mr Kemp explains: “We realised we needed something more reliable after we had three coaches break down. We’d never used Volvo before, but when I asked other people in the industry they all seemed to advise going with Volvo for the reliability and aftercare. I met with three major manufacturers before taking the final decision.

“We can’t afford to have coaches break down, so the ongoing maintenance support and three-year warranty were a big part of our decision. We need that security and peace-of-mind.”

The 53-seater brings Burland’s fleet size to 10 coaches. The company plans to grow this to 12 vehicles by the end of the year as part of its planned expansion.

Phil Hudson, Volvo Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, said: “We’re very happy that Burland chose to go with Volvo as they grow the business, and I see this as the beginning of an ongoing partnership. We plan to deliver the excellent reliability and aftercare that Burland Coaches and all our customers expect.”

Burland Coaches will put the new vehicle into operation immediately, delivering tours and one-day excursions to a range of domestic attractions.
