The family run firm, based in Llanidloes, Powys in Wales, has successfully run coach services for many years and needed three new vehicles to meet the needs of a new bus contract.
Phyl Davies, Director of Celtic Travel, said: “We have always had a great experience with all our previous Volvo vehicles, our fleet is 50 per cent Volvo which underlines this. We purchased three B7RLE buses back in 2012 and have been extremely happy with their operation, so when it came time to expand our fleet, specifying the upgrade on that same vehicle was an easy decision.
“Particularly attractive to us is the new MCV eVoRa bodywork. Among its many excellent features and benefits are its wheelchair accessibility and three-point seatbelts, both elements are very important for the convenience and safety of our passengers.”
The B8RLE offers the type of chassis required to operate this new service for Celtic Travel. These vehicles will be covering a significant number of miles per year and the reliability and aftersales service offered by Volvo will ensure the buses stay on the road.
The company has a good ongoing relationship with Volvo Hartshornes, and this was an important consideration when making their vehicle choice decision.
Volv Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, Sam Prothero, added: “Celtic Travel were looking for a vehicle that could meet the demands of a busy bus route and cater for the needs of a variety of passengers. We are pleased that with this in mind they selected the Volvo B8RLE, a robust vehicle, which will be perfectly suited to them.
“Reliability and low fuel consumption are crucial factors for Celtic Travel and the B8RLE buses offer that in abundance. I look forward to working with them again in the future.”
Celtic Travel offers an extensive range of coach holidays across Ireland and the UK as well as private hire for day trips and school outings, weddings and sports fixtures.
