The influential Cotswold-based coach operator founded the firm in 1880 and hold the title of being one of the longest established Coach and Bus Operators in the UK. The company history goes as far as passing through four generations of the Pulhams family, who constantly strive to adapt to the changing needs of their customers and clients. Their HQ consists of a state-of-the-art workshop, the latest maintenance facilities for all their vehicles and a new commercial testing bay, all of which serve to enhance their rigorous maintenance programme and commitment to safety.
Pulhams, who already have a strong representation of Volvo vehicles across their fleet, have just taken delivery of a new Volvo 9700, the first fully integral Volvo purchase from the Cotswold operator. The new vehicle is also PSVAR compliant, really making this the complete package. It is the perfect new addition for their existing modern, efficient and evolving fleet.
The 9700 is the most versatile coach across the Volvo Bus range. The B11R chassis is complimented perfectly with a co-ordinating Volvo body and epitomises the complete luxury Volvo Bus experience. The 53 passenger seats feature accompanying USB charging points, adjustable footrests, headrests and piping, ensuring maximum passenger comfort. The 9700 can be configured to suit any operation, which in this case is even allowing operations to alter between tours, weekday contracts and weekend charter.
Andy Pulham, Managing Director at Pulhams said, “Our decision to purchase the Volvo 9700 was based around our excellent relationship with our local Volvo dealership Wales and West and the ease of parts supply and support to keep the vehicle on the road. Being PSVAR compliant the vehicle is extremely versatile within our fleet and will be used on private hires, tours, rail replacement and home to school transport. It really is a vehicle perfect for a wide range of services. Simon and the team at Volvo Bus Coventry were helpful in answering any questions we had alongside arranging a viewing of a similar vehicle which assisted us with making this purchase.”
Simon Woolacott, Regional Account Manager at Volvo Bus said, “We are very happy and proud to be able to supply a prestigious company like Pulhams with a fully PSVAR version of the new 9700 coach. Whilst Pulhams have numerous Volvo powered coaches in their large fleet, this is the first complete coach they have taken built by Volvo. It was a pleasure to deal with Andy and his team, and I hope we can do more business in the future”.
