Jon-Paul Bretherton said, “We have bought Volvo for a number of years due to the reliable build quality; the vehicles are always robust and strong. In particular with the 9900 we like the kerb appeal of the design, and our passengers are used to the theatre style seating in our last 9700. The vehicle will be used for Brethertons day excursions, holidays and private hire. We have purchased with Volvo Bus previously for both new and used vehicles and have found that the team are always knowledgeable, especially when handing over the vehicle. They are genuine and honest people - you know exactly what you are going to get every time.”
The 9900 is one of Volvo Buses fully integral offerings and was designed to give passengers a luxury travel experience. Looking at the vehicle exterior, the distinctive trademark black and red livery stands out and portrays an executive sleek look and feel. The interior environment also features coordinating black and red passenger seats, matching the exterior and Brethertons brand colours perfectly. Passenger seats are also equipped with a table, foot support, net pocket and handgrip. Noise level from the vehicle is low and the coach body gives an impression of spaciousness and openness. The theatre floor, sloping window line and large window areas ensure that passengers have unobstructed view whilst on the move.
Like many other operators within the industry, Brethertons have reflected on how 2020 was one of the most challenging years in their history of operations, but things are now looking brighter for this year, with a full calendar of upcoming tours in the diary.

The new 9900 from Brethertons will be showcased at the UK Coach Rally in Blackpool, the 66th in history but first since 2019 due to the pandemic. Shortly after this it will go straight into normal service where passengers will be alighting on board for their first holiday tour and we look forward to seeing where it travels to!
