The 12.1 metre models with 46 seats are additions to the fleet and are being used around Yorkshire, whilst the drivers have described them as fantastic.
Reliance Motor Services is a family business established in 1930, now owned and run by Gary Newby along with his wife Hollie Newby who are the company directors.
Routes for its buses take in villages such as Tollerton, Alne, Huby and Sutton-on-the-Forest as well as the picturesque market towns of Easingwold, Thirsk and Helmsley.
Gary said: “These are the first eVoRas that we have specified but I’ve always been impressed with the Volvo chassis and how it performs.
“I couldn’t be happier with these two latest additions to the fleet and can say they are the best buses I’ve driven in 22 years of driving. I’ve also had very positive feedback from our drivers.”
In an encouraging industry development, Reliance has now seen passenger numbers return to similar levels experienced pre-pandemic.
Phil Hudson, North of England Regional Account Manager at Volvo Bus UK & Ireland, said: “The driver feedback has been amazing, plus there’s been glowing praise from Gary who has plenty of bus driving miles under his belt.
“The eVoRa is available in 10.8 metre and 12.1 metre variants, and I’m delighted that Reliance are so happy with their larger 46 seater models. It’s also very encouraging that they are seeing a strong return in passenger numbers, like most operators are now witnessing.”
