The new dynamic vehicle joins Motts fleet of 55, which includes over 30 vehicles built on the proven Volvo chassis. The renewed investment reflects a strong faith and trust in the Volvo brand, products and services by the Buckinghamshire operator.
“We’ve had Volvo B9Rs before,” explained Managing Director, Roger Mott. “The vehicle has excellent lightweight characteristics and strong driving qualities, more traditionally associated with larger coaches. Additionally we felt it offered the perfect balance of power, fuel economy and passenger comfort to ideally position it as a touring coach under the Crusader Holidays banner.”
“Volvo is a manufacturer that we know and trust through past experience,” he continued. “We know the level of quality and service that we get, but more importantly we know that the vehicles are reliable.”
Motts’ new B9R coach is specified with the vertical, rear mounted 6-cylinder D9B engine rated at 380hp. It features the fully automated 12-speed I-Shift mechanical gearbox and anti-lock brakes, with anti-slip regulation.
It is equipped with 53 leather trimmed seats, a fixed centre toilet, air-conditioning, two TV monitors, DVD player and on onboard fridge. The vehicle also features a reversing camera to support the driver during manoeuvres and onboard CCTV to provide additional safety and security for passengers.
The new B9R is liveried in blue and white and features the branding of Crusader Holidays, it also has a specifically chosen personalised registration plate “MT12 MTT”.
“Motts Travel is an extremely valued Volvo customer,” explained Volvo Bus Regional Sales Manager, Jo Standbridge. “On this occasion they required a new coach for the Crusader Holidays brand. They’d taken delivery of B9R coaches in the past and found them reliable and economic on fuel, so were keen to purchase another.”
