Lochs and Glens new vehicles have been bought to replace existing Volvo coaches in the company’s touring fleet. Two of the new coaches were delivered in May and two further vehicles followed in June.

The Gartocharn registered company, which has recently opened a new hotel, operates 16 coaches, all of which are specified on the Volvo chassis. “We’ve always run Volvos at Lochs and Glens,” explained Operations Manager, Paul Shipcott. “The vehicles we’ve had in the past have been reliable and we like the service and support we get with Volvo, so we saw absolutely no reason to change manufacturer.

“The Ardgartan Hotel, in Arrochar opened on the 21st July and these new coaches will be running tours to that location, as well as our other holiday destinations. It really is exciting times for the company and we’re glad Volvo can continue to support us as we continue to move forward.”

Lochs and Glens’ four new 57 seater coaches are specified with the Volvo Euro compliant, fuel efficient 13-litre diesel engine, rated at 460hp and coupled to the proven Volvo I-Shift gearbox. They feature the company’s traditional and eye-catching light Ivory paintwork and feature the logo on the livery.

The Volvo B13R is specifically built with passenger comfort in mind, something which is very important to Lochs and Glens. “We’re very proud of our customer service commitment, both at our hotels and on our touring coaches,” continued Paul Shipcott. “Our new Volvo coaches will support this philosophy.”

Featuring CCTV, reversing camera, two TV screens, CD and DVD capability, an on-board toilet and a servery, the B13R meets all the requirements of a holiday touring coach. It also has an ergonomic driving position with easy-reach controls, making it an equally popular choice with drivers.

Volvo Bus Regional Sales Manager, Duncan Crosby, was delighted to continue Volvo’s long association with Lochs and Glens; “We’ve had a successful relationship with Lochs and Glens since 1979. They know the quality and reliability of our product and we look forward to working with them again in the near future.
