Volvo’s new self-charging bus can now drive longer and emission-free on electricity
The new Volvo self-charging buses with hybrid power, the “S-Charge” model range have been upgraded with new capabilities and can now drive silently and emission-free on electricity at higher speeds and cover longer distances than before. This creates new possibilities to use self-charging hybrid-electric powered buses in city zero-emission zones and other sensitive areas.
Volvo’s bus plant in Borås has now become one of the first bus production facilities that relies solely on renewable energy. All the energy that the factory uses comes from renewable sources, such as hydropower and biofuels. The factory’s overall energy consumption has also been reduced by 15 per cent in just the past few years.

Yeap Transport chooses Volvo buses to transport children to school safely every day
Yeap Transport Pte Ltd, established in 1979, were the first operators in Singapore to be awarded a contract for school bus transportation. Today, the company has 456 buses serving around 12,000 children on a daily basis, across various schools in Singapore.

Late 2018, Volvo Buses delivered 6 low entry Volvo B8RLE Euro 6 chassis’ to Sentosa Development Corporation. These buses will be used to move tourists within Sentosa, covering both the western part of the island and the eastern side attractions. These newly delivered Volvo B8RLE’s are amongst the first Euro 6 low entry buses to be delivered in Singapore.

Volvo Buses delivered the first of 50 Volvo diesel hybrid buses to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore. The decision to introduce hybrid buses to the roads of Singapore was made by the LTA in an effort to build a more environmentally-friendly public bus fleet.
