  • Viação Catedral, one of the largest passenger transport operators in Brazil, is renewing its fleet and has ordered 152 Volvo B13R Euro 6 double decker coaches for operation on long-distance routes. Almost all of the coaches feature Marcopolo bodies.

  • Prevost, a company in the Volvo Group and one of North America's leading motorcoach manufacturers, is proud to announce the largest contract in its history with a major order from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) of New York State. The MTA has awarded Prevost a contract to manufacture 381 coaches, including a firm order for 250 coaches to be delivered between 2025 and 2026, as well as options to purchase an additional 131 coaches.

  • Luxembourg operator DEMY SCHANDELER S.àr.l. (Demy Cars) has ordered 15 Volvo 7900 Electric buses to operate in intercity traffic. It is the first order for Volvo electric buses with Volvo 7900 Electric bodies built by MCV. The order shows confidence in Volvo Buses’ new partnership with bodybuilder MCV, with the buses set to be delivered in spring 2025.

  • Volvo Buses has now signed an agreement with leading bodybuilder Sunsundegui to manufacture its Volvo 9700 and Volvo 9900 bodies under license. Production is expected to commence in 2024, with the first buses hitting the European market in 2025.

  • Volvo Buses has begun the first demonstration of its 100% electric city bus in real operation in Latin America. The Volvo BZL Electric will run on two routes in Curitiba, Brazil, which connect dozens of neighbourhoods, transporting 135,000 passengers daily and integrating with the city's BRT in several terminals. Further demonstrations of the Volvo BZL Electric will follow in São Paulo, Bogotá, Colombia and Santiago, Chile.

  • Volvo Buses has secured an order for 50 Volvo BZL Electric double deck buses from Edinburgh-based Lothian Buses, the UK’s largest municipal bus company. Three major UK orders have now been confirmed this year. The total number of Volvo electric buses for the UK, including all orders to date and those set to be delivered in the near future, is now over 500.

  • Volvo Buses has signed an agreement with MCV for the manufacture of bodies for the Volvo 7900 Electric and Volvo 7900 Electric Artic, and later for an electric bus for intercity traffic. Production is expected to start in 2024 and the first electric buses with chassis from Volvo and bodies from MCV will be on the market in 2025.

  • Volvo Buses in Mexico is celebrating its 25th anniversary by launching a fully electric city bus. The entire bus is manufactured locally at the Volvo Buses plant in Tultitlán, Mexico, and it represents the most sustainable solution for urban transport in Mexico.

  • Volvo Buses has secured two orders for a total of 189 new electric buses from Stagecoach, one of the UK’s largest coach and bus operators. One order for 170 electric buses is Volvo Buses' biggest electric bus order ever.

  • Volvo Buses has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with leading coach and bus bodybuilder Sunsundegui, with the intention to produce bodies under license for the Volvo 9700 and Volvo 9900. Production is expected to start in 2024, with the first models on the market in 2025.

  • Volvo Buses has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the bodybuilder MCV (Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles) with the intention to produce bodies for its electric buses for the city- and intercity segments in European markets. Serial production is planned to start in the summer of 2024 and the first electric buses are expected to be delivered to customers in Europe in the beginning of 2025.

  • Volvo Buses is changing its business model in Europe and will apply the same successful model as it has on several other markets. This means that Volvo Buses will focus its production on chassis and together with external bodybuilders offer customers in Europe a complete range of city and intercity buses as well as coaches for the premium segment. Consequently, Volvo Buses has decided to close its bodybuilding factory in Wroclaw, Poland, during the first quarter of 2024. Volvo Buses has signed a Letter of Intent regarding the divestment of its premises to Vargas Holding. A restructuring provision of SEK 1.3 billion will negatively impact operating income in the first quarter of 2023.

  • Belgian public transport operator Opérateur de Transport de Wallonie (OTW), operating under the commercial name TEC, has ordered 97 Volvo 7900 S-Charge buses. The large order follows previous recent deliveries of Volvo Buses hybrid vehicles which have shown exceptional reliability.

  • Prevost – a subsidiary of Volvo Buses – has introduced its all-new, next-generation H3-45 coach for customers in North America. The redesigned passenger coach features a series of engineering advances that deliver improved fuel efficiency, an enhanced driver experience and high standards in passenger comfort.

  • Transport for London bus operator Metroline, part of global transport operator ComfortDelGro, has confirmed a major order for 48 Volvo BZL Electric zero emission single deck buses which will enter service in London during the second half of next year. The order is one of the largest so far for the Volvo BZL Electric.

  • For Tide Buss, connected services are a natural part of its daily operations in Tromsø, Norway. With Volvo Connect, Tide can quickly and easily get a full overview of its bus fleet. It is also an important tool for avoiding unplanned stops, reducing fuel consumption, improving drivers’ working environment and offering passengers safe and comfortable journeys.

  • The two companies have entered into a cooperation agreement and will work together to develop more sustainable coach travel by making fleet development easier for FlixBus partner operators.

  • A global survey conducted by Volvo Buses reveals that demand for coach journeys is on the rise. Among the markets surveyed, passengers in Latin America and southern Europe show most interest to travel by coach again, whereas people in northern Europe are slightly more hesitant. In total 65 % of the respondent’s state that they are planning for a coach journey within a year.
