A high level of comfort combined with plenty of space – up to 68 passengers and their luggage – makes the Volvo 9800 Double Decker hard to outperform in its class. The 500 hp engine makes it the most powerful choice on the market and it’s the only double-decker that comes with a wheelchair ramp. Built for a long service life, it manages many years of hard work with a low total cost of ownership.
Fuel-efficiency and biofuel
The new 13-litre Euro 6 engine and driveline feature several fuel-saving technologies, helping to reduce fuel consumption by up to 9% compared with the previous engine. A new engine compartment layout with a unique cooling system operated by electrical fans and faster rear axle ratio are two examples. For improved environmental performance, the Euro 6 engine can run on HVO.

With the new 13-litre engine, service intervals are extended thanks to a state-of-the-art engine and an installation featuring a unique cooling system with electrical fans. The temperature is kept low and uniform in all conditions, and the engine runs under optimised conditions.
